hubby labs and i have always been health conscious. not that we don’t eat junk food or go ice-cream trips per se, but we exert effort to ensuring we have a wealthy dose of vegetables and fruits. however, with my ever-growing fascination with being able to cook americanized versions of Pinoy food I so loved eating growing up, hubby labs and i couldn’t help gain a pound here and there. Even though I used all fat-free broths, and lean cuts and veggie alternatives, one cannot truly enjoy pinoy food without any rice helpings (those carbs!).

simply irresistable!
thanks to mr. boss, we have found a way to be able to attend filipino parties without fear of putting back endless pounds. according to my hubby labs, as he was slowly indoctrinating me into this cause, this diet is usually used in military to easily lose 10 lbs. i will have to check back with him the whole science as to how one is able to lose and maintain the weight after this diet.
here’s the jist:
1. you can eat all you want. yes, you can eat all of you want of the type of food for that day. you can eat it anytime and however many times!
2. a diet plan good for a week. if you need to fit into that dress for a party or just prepare yourself for some heavy food tripping this holiday season, this plan is good for roughly 8 days.
3. simple. no need to pre-cook, prepare, or go to specialty stores to get the food you eat.
4. fast results. if you follow the game plan seriously, you are looking at losing around 8-10 lbs in a week’s time.
downside:
1. excruciatingly painful. especially if you are an ice cream junkie like me. i literally whine and cry for the first couple days. only when i start fitting into my clothes do i rejoice.
2. it can be very routinary. i mean seriously, how long can you go eating the same thing? if you are love flavor like i do, this diet plan needs a lot of serious focus.
so here’s the game plan:
Day 1 and 2 – Cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, pimiento, monterey jack, you name it!)
Day 3 and 4 – Apples(gala, granny smith, fuji, you name it!)
Day 5 and 6 – Vegetables (no broths, no dressing for salads, you can add lemon or pepper to flavor, you can steam, grill or boil)
Day 7 and 8 – Chicken (broiled or grilled and no skin)

yummy greens and then some!
we are on our third round of using this diet plan and so far we are able to keep off the pounds lost, hubby with his astounding 15 and i with my 8. just a friendly reminder though, keep close to a restroom the first couple days.
of course, diet needs to be couple with exercise. hubby labs is able to keep off more than me as he loves going to the gym. as of 2007, my idea of exercise usually entails the use of credit card and is done in shopping malls. (pramis, i will go back to my higher self come 2008!)
so, if you are able to muster up the courage to try it out, let me know if and how it worked for you!
